Cost Effective Energy Efficient Imnrovements for Minnesota Arena's <br />prepared by the Center of Eneray and Environment /Energy Saving <br />Measures. <br />Along with the Minnesota's Center of Energy handout, a power point <br />presentation was prepared to show some of the Arena's energy saving <br />measures that are in place and some that could be accomplished or refined. <br />Commissioner Farber asked if there was some sort of energy saving grant <br />since the City of Elk River is an Energy Star City. <br />Ice Arena manager Rich Czech stated that he would look into the ceiling tiles <br />that were presented in the energy saving information. <br />9. Ice Sales <br />A handout was presented that showed the Ice Arena usage by customer. Total <br />hours from Tune 06 through May 07 were 4,174.17. Total hours projected <br />from June 07 through May 08 are 3,914.42. <br />I I. Remodeling of the Entrvwav and Lobby <br />A computer generated picture and floor plan was handed out that showed the <br />Arena in a possible post remodel stage. <br />Discussion followed by Commissioner Farber asking if there could be a joint <br />venture with the Elk River School Board. Commissioner Barth stated that he <br />feels the Board is open to discussion regarding aArena/field house and that <br />he would like to facilitate a meeting with the School Board, City of Elk River, <br />City Council, Youth Hockey Representative, Skate Club Representative, and <br />Arena Manager Rich Czech. <br />Chair Martin and Commissioner Farber both stated that they would like to be <br />involved also in the meeting. <br />
