EXECUTIVE SESSION OF THE ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL <br />HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL <br /> MONDAY, APRIL 14, 1997 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br />Staff Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman, Councilmembers Dietz, Thompson, Farber, and <br />Holmgren <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Pat Klaers, City Administrator; Sandra Thackeray, City Clerk; Dayle <br />Nolan, City Attorney; Lori Johnson, Assistant City Administrator; <br />Police Chief Tom Zerwas; Sergeant Tom Tyler; Sergeant Brad Rohlf; <br />Sergeant Ron Nierenhausen; and Sergeant Jeff Mordal <br /> <br />The Executive Session of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Duitsman <br />at 5:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman explained that the Executive Session is being held to discuss a <br />personnel issue relating to a police department employee. The issue was <br />discussed. The Council was given the opportunity to ask questions regarding the <br />issue. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Council to terminate Officer Matt Habben based on <br />the recommendations from the City Administrator, the Police Chief and his <br />Sergeants and based on the information presented to the Council in oral and <br />written form before and during the executive session.
