As noted during the City Council discussion on March 17th about the Highland Road sidewalk, there are a lot of capital improvement program (CIP) activities going on in the city. In order to address some new projects that are desired, the City Council needs to get together in a worksession to review the status of the city CIP. The City Council needs to: Review what projects are in progress and the funding source for these projects. Evaluate what is planned for 1997-98 and the proposed funding source for these projects. Consider and evaluate which projects are not yet programmed due to lack of available funds. 4. Identifying new projects that are desired by the City Council. 5. Discuss the status of the CIP funds to address #3 and #4 above. Attached is the schedule for Council meetings for the next few weeks. These are formal Council meetings and do not include commission meetings or other meetings that Councilmembers may be committed to attend. We need to find a date when all five Councilmembers are present for 3+ hours to do some CIP work. It would be best to do this at one meeting rather than have our CIP work broken up into different meetings. A Monday is not likely to have 3+ hours available so, accordingly, we may be looking at a special meeting date in order to have a discussion on the city's CIP for 1997-98. Please bring your calendar to this meeting in order to help us identify a CIP meeting date. If you are not going to be in attendance at this 3/24/97 City Council meeting, please advise me or the Mayor of dates (including Saturdays) which you are not available for a special CIP worksession. 13065 Orono Parkway · P.O.
