City of Elk River <br />Clean Up Day & Earth Day Celebration <br />Saturday, April 26, 1997 <br />from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon <br /> <br />Location: City Maintenance Garage <br />19000 Elk Lake Road, City of Elk River <br /> <br />The City of Elk River is organizing a Clean-Up Day for Elk River residents to recycle or <br />dispose of several "hard to dispose of materials". Only Elk River residents will be allowed to <br />participate and IDs will be checked at the gate. No business/cornrnercial waste will be <br />accepted. <br /> <br />The following items will be collected: <br />® Tires: <br /> <br />· Appliances: <br /> <br />Electronics: <br />Furniture: <br /> <br />· Fluorescent bulbs: <br /> <br />· Auto Batteries: <br />· Scrap metal: <br />· Leaves/grassclippings: <br /> <br />$1 per passenger tire, <br />$3 per semi tire <br />$5 per tractor tire <br />$4 per appliance, <br />$8 per air conditioner <br />No water softeners <br />$4 per item (TVs, VCRs, stereos, etc.) <br />$4 per item (mattresses, box springs, <br />sofa, chairs, tables, dressers and <br />carpet) ONLY one standard pickup <br />load of furniture per household will be <br />allowed. <br />$0.50 per bulb (BROKEN BULBS <br />WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED). Save <br />the original container to store bulbs in <br />for disposal. <br />No Charge <br />No Charge <br />No Charge <br /> <br />No general junk, construction materials or garbage will be accepted. <br /> <br />Household hazardous waste such as paints, household cleaners, solvents, etc. will NOT be <br />accepted at the Elk River Clean-Up Day. Residents wishing to dispose o£ household <br />hazardous waste should contact the Tri-County Household Hazardous Waste <br />Facility in St. Cloud at 1-800-450-6140. <br /> <br />More Volunteers are needed! If you are interested in helping out or have questions about <br />the Clean-Up Day Event, please call Greg Berg at the Elk River City Hall at 441-7420. <br /> <br /> <br />
