Tree Sale The city is once again promoting the sale of trees for residents by offering them at a discounted rate. Phil Hals and myself will be organizing this program in a cooperative effort. The order form is attached for your information on what is available. City Hall will be taking orders until April 1, 1997 and the trees will be ready for pick up at the public works garage sometime in the middle of May. Extra Garbage Pick Up The city has had an on going problem with the issue of extra garbage that won't fit in a residents 32 or 90 gallon container. On February 28, 1997, I held a meeting at city hall with the three haulers (Randy's Sanitation, Corrow's Sanitation, Peterson Bros. Sanitation) and Vivian from utilities. We discussed what to do with the above mentioned situation. The haulers agreed to go to a sticker system, so that any extra bagged garbage would be required to have a sticker on it or it would not be picked up. The stickers will be provided by the haulers and purchased by the city for $1.50 and then sold by utilities to the city residents for $2.50. The $1.50 that the hauler will be charging the city will go to pay for the stickers and to compensate for an increase in the disposal cost of the extra garbage. The $1.00 that the city adds to the cost for the residents will be to pay the disposal cost at the RDF plant and for administrative fees. An example of the notice to be sent out in the next utility billing is attached for you to look at. The program is targeted to begin April 1, 1997. Code Enforcement Update As far as I know there has not been much of a change in the status of the complaint cases since you were last updated. I have enclosed a copy of the most recent spread sheet of complaint cases for your viewing.
