ty of <br /> <br />iver <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br /> Mayor and City Council <br /> <br /> Steve Ach, City PlanneL~c~ <br /> <br /> February 18, 1997 <br /> <br /> Consider Initiating Ordinance <br /> Amendment <br /> <br />ITEM 7.13. <br /> <br />The City Council is asked to consider initiating the ordinance amendment <br />listed below and direct staff to begin the public hearing process for the <br />Planning Commission and City Council's review of the ordinance <br />amendment. <br /> <br />Overview <br /> <br />The ordinance amendment staff is requesting the Council to initiate would <br />establish a minimum lot depth for residential zoning districts. <br /> <br />The requested ordinance amendment is a question that is frequently asked <br />by developers when designing plats. Establishing a minimum lot depth is <br />typical practice and should be included in Elk River's subdivision standards. <br /> <br />If the Council approves initiating the ordinance amendment, it will be <br />presented to the Planning Commission on March 25th and then to the City <br />Council on April 21st. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />It is recommended the Council initiate the requested ordinance amendments <br />and direct staff to begin the public hearing process to review the ordinance <br />amendments. <br /> <br /> s:Xcouncil~ordinanc.doc <br />13065 Orono Parkway · P.O.
