ORDINANCE 10 -16 <br />CIT,Y OF ELK RIVER <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE <br />CITY OF ELK RIVER <br />AMENDING SECTION 2 -212 <br />OF THE ELK RIVER, <br />MINNESOTA, CITY CODE <br />OF ORDINANCES <br />RELATING TO THE <br />HERITAGE <br />PRESERVATION <br />COMMISSION <br />The City -Council of the City of <br />Elk -MVer ttses jterebr6rdM as <br />follows: <br />Section 1. Section 2 -212 titled, <br />Membership; officers, of the <br />City'of Elk River Code of Ordi- <br />nances shall be amended to <br />read as follows: <br />The heritage preservation <br />commission shall consist of five <br />members appointed by the city <br />council for terms of three years. <br />The last day for the term of <br />office of each member shall be <br />the last day of February; how - <br />=er, all members may con - <br />ae service until either reap - <br />.nted or replaced by the city <br />council. A vacancy shall be <br />filled by the city council for the <br />remainder of the term. The <br />members of the heritage pres- <br />ervation commission, by a <br />majority vote, shall elect one of <br />the appointed commissioners at <br />the first meeting of the year to <br />serve as chair and one to serve <br />as vice chair. Commission <br />members must be persons with <br />demonstrated interest or exper- <br />tise in historic preservation. <br />Each commission member must <br />be a resident of the City of Elk <br />River. The heritage preserva- <br />tion commission shall include, <br />if available, a member of the <br />Sherburne County Historical <br />Society. <br />Section 2.
