ARTICLE III FIRE PREVENTION STANDARDS <br /> <br />Sec 22-71 ~ ..... ~. ,,-~A-- .irc ~AA~ ~ .... ~ Minnesota State Fire Code <br /> Adopted <br /> <br />The 1997 Minnesota Uniform State Fire Code, promulgated pursuant to Minn. Stats. <br />§ 299F.011 and Minnesota Rules ch. 7510, is hereby adopted by the city for the <br />purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and <br />property from fire and explosion, except those portions that are deleted or <br />amended by section 22-73. Ail future editions of the Minnesota Uniform State <br />Fire Code shall automatically be adopted by the city as they are approved by the <br />state, except those portions that may be deleted or amended by section 22-73. <br />One copy of the Minnesota Uniform State Fire Code in effect within the city <br />shall be on file in the office of the city clerk. <br />(Code 1982, § 207.00) <br />State law references: Adoption by reference, Minn. Stats. § 471.62. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-72. Definitions of terms used in Minnesota ~ni~r~.. State Fire Code. <br /> <br />(a) Wherever the words "chief of the bureau of fire prevention" are used in <br />the Minnesota Uniform State Fire Code, they shall be held to mean the fire <br />chief. <br /> <br />(b) Wherever the word "jurisdiction" is used in the Minnesota Uniform State <br />Fire Code, it shall be held to mean the City of Elk River. <br />(Code 1982, § 207.04) <br />Cross references: Definitions generally, § 1-2. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-73. Amendments to Minnesota ~ni.or=... State Fire Code. <br /> <br />The Minnesota Uniform State Fire Code is amended and changed in the following <br />respects: <br /> <br />(1) Parking in or obstructing fire lane. It is unlawful to park any vehicle or <br />to locate any obstruction in an area designated as a fire lane, whether the fire <br />lane is adjacent to a public or private structure or property. <br /> <br />(2) Review of building plans. The chief of the fire department or his <br />representative shall review all building plans, except plans for single-family <br />or two-family residences, to ensure compliance with the provisions of the <br />Minnesota Uniform State Fire Code, and he/she shall note any violations <br />discovered in connection with the proposed structures to such persons as shall <br />be charged with the responsibility for review of such plans. <br /> <br />~ (3) Article 1, section 105 (permits). Article 1, section 105 of the <br />Uniform International Fire Code, titled "Permits," is adopted in its entirety <br />and incorporated as fully as if set out in this section. <br /> <br /> <br />
