range officer present while this occurs, so there is a cost to having departments train at our
facility. Additionally, the more training in the facility - the more wear and tear you have on
the equipment. If you overuse the range, you life expectancy of the interior range equipment
is dimimshed. It is a check and balance approach - finding the right number of rental hours
that creates revenue without impacting the longevity of the equipment.

The other associated costs with operating a gun range rather than leasing don't change
much. We are required to purchase ammunition from the range when we go to Maple Grove
or Annandale. These costs are slighdy more; perhaps $200 total a year. They supply
cardboard target backings - we would have to supply our own. That cost is around $400 a
year. There is also maintenance associated with the range, although our range officers can do
most of that. In the long term, we will deal with some costs as items ~vear out or need
replacement. Those costs would not occur for 5-10 years. The life of the range itself is 20-25
years and can be extended by routine maintenance and upgrades as needed.

Last, the private property, surrounding the Anoka County Outdoor Range at Bunker Hills
has been sold and a residential development is being built adjacent to that facility. This will
result in the closing of that t_rammg facility. Anoka is currently looking at an indoor range on
the eastern edge of their County. Our only other training locations are then Annandale, St.
Cloud and the indoor range in Maple Grove.
