Beahen, Chief of Police <br /> June 11,2003 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Authorization to hire replacement of Officer Eliingwodh <br /> <br />Our selection process for the hiring of a replacement officer for the position left vacant by <br />the resignation of Officer Ellingworth is complete. We have selected Kevin Heldt of <br />Webster City, iowa, as the top candidate and are prepared to make a conditional offer of <br />employment. Mr. Heldt is currently a police officer with the Webster City Police <br />Depa~iment and he has been employed there for five (5) years. <br /> <br />I am requesting authorization to make a conditional offer of employment to Mr. Held[ This <br />offer is contingent on Mr. Heldt passing the departmental required physical and <br />psychological exams. <br /> <br />I am also requesting that he start at the fa:st pay step in the union contract. Kevin is certified <br />as a field training officer, intoxilyzer operator, defensive tactics and asp baton instructor, and <br />is First Responder certified.
