The effort engages <br />local governments, nonprofits, community and business leaders, and citizens in preserving <br />home ownership in Minnesota by calling attention to for-profit companies' unsavory <br />techniques and offering home owners free alternative home preservation solutions. <br />Partnership Expectations <br />Partner organizations play a central role in Look Before You Leap's ability to reach home <br />owners where they work and live, and lend invaluable credibility to the public education <br />campaign. As a campaign partner, the Minnesota Home Ownership Center asks that <br />your organization engage in the following activities: <br />Stay in Contact <br />• Dedicate a campaign liaison or contact person to receive regular communications. <br />• Allow your organization's name to be listed as a supporter on the campaign website at <br />www.LookBeforeYouLeap.org and in other communications. <br />Spread the word <br />• Include campaign information in internal newsletters or other communications <br />wherever possible. <br />• Invite a Look Before You Leap representative to give a presentation to your civic club <br />meeting, organization or business meeting. <br />• Include a link to LookBeforeYouLeap.org on your company website or in an electronic <br />newsletter. <br />• Share information about the campaign with your local elected officials and opinion <br />leaders in your community as opportunities arise. <br />Offer Your Ideas <br />• Contact Julie Gugin (julie@hocmn.org) or Ed Nelson (ed@hocmn.org) with any ideas <br />for the future of the campaign. <br />Together, these simple actions will create n groundswell of awareness in the communities <br />being hardest-hit by predatory foreclosure prevention scams. <br />www.
