REQUEST FOR ACTION <br />TO ITEM NUMBER <br />Ci Council 3.7. <br />AGENDA SECTION MEETING DATE PREPARED BY <br />Consent Se tember 7, 2010 Rodne Schreifels, Parks Su ervisor <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION REVIEWED B~/ <br />Authorization to Order Grooming Snowmobile for Delivery in Mark Thom son, Fleet Cha~ erson <br />2011 REVIEWED BY <br /> Tim Simon, Finance Director <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />Authorization to order aSki-Doo Skandic grooming snowmobile in the amount of $9,725.63 from <br />Truman Welters of Buffalo for delivery in 2011. <br />BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION <br />The City owns three Ski-Doo Skandic snowmobiles for grooming cross-country ski trails. These are on a <br />seven year replacement schedule. During the review of the 2011 equipment replacements, funds were <br />designated for replacing the 2002 Ski-Doo Skandic. In order to take delivery of the machine in 2011, the <br />order needs to be placed in the next couple of weeks. The lowest quote vendor may have the item in <br />stock after the first part of the year; otherwise, we may not receive this snowmobile until the fall of 2011. <br />This is the same request for action that the Council approved in Apri12008 for the replacement of the <br />first snowmobile in 2009. <br />Staff received the following quotes: <br />Truman Welters, Buffalo, MN $9,100 plus tax <br />Honda House, St. Cloud, MN $9,675 plus tax <br />Staff is requesting authorization to place order with Truman Welters of Buffalo, MN for delivery in 2011. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />The funds will come from the equipment replacement fund in the amount of $9,725.63.
