A four foot fence will be
installed as necessary in areas where collections of water greater than 1 ~/2 feet deep are located,
where extraction slopes are steeper than one foot vertical to 1 ½ feet horizontal, and any other
areas where obvious signs of danger to the public exist.

3.4 SITE APPEARANCE AND SCREENING

All Site equipment will be kept operational. The trees and
ground cover located in the mining areas will be removed as each phased area progresses. All
existing trees and ground cover will be preserved to the maximum extent feasible. The majority
of the Site will remain undisturbed.

3.5 REHABILITATION

Rehabilitation will be continuing process, occurring as quickly as possible upon completion of
each phased operation.

All banks and slopes will be restored in accordance with the attached Restoration Plan. The restored areas will be
planted with enough ground cover sufficient to contain the soil. The vegetation will be inspected
periodically to insure it is self-sustaining. Trees will be planted where appropriate.

No water bodies will be created as part of the mining operation. All standing surface waters
resulting from the mining operation will be 'backfilled with acceptable material.

3.6 NOISE

Maximum noise levels at the perimeter of the Site will comply with Minnesota Pollution Control
Agency (MPCA) standards. Any nuisance noises will be minimized by limiting hours of
operation. Selected placement of gravel stockpiles can also be used to control noise.
