There being no one to speak to this issue, Mayor <br />Klinzing continued the public hearing to August 2, 2010. <br />5.4. Request by City of Elk River for an Ordinance Amendment to the Land Use Regulations <br />Regarding Signage in the CRT (Commercial Reserve Transition Zoning District Case No <br />OA 10-07 -Public Hearin <br />Mr. Leeseberg presented the staff report. <br />Mayor Klinzing opened the public hearing. There being no one to speak to this issue, Mayor <br />Klinzing closed the public hearing. <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUMPHREY TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 10-10 <br />AMENDING SECTION 30-876 OF THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES <br />RELATING TO SIGNAGE IN THE COMMERCIAL RESERVE TRANSITION <br />AREA. <br />Councilmember Westgaard expressed concerns with monitoring and enforcement of this <br />ordinance. He felt the ordinance would hinder business and that signage shouldn't be <br />regulated when they are displayed internal. <br />Councilmember Zerwas questioned why there should be a limit to the number of signs and <br />a size limitation. <br />Councilmember Motin stated the signs can be seen from Highway 169. <br />Councilmember Zerwas asked that Section C (4) be removed from the ordinance. <br />THE MAKER AND SECONDER OF THE MOTION AMENDED THE <br />MOTION TO REMOVE SECTION C (4) FROM THE ORDINANCE. <br />MOTION CARRIED 4-1.
