River <br /> <br />13065 Orono Parkway <br />Elk River, MN 55330 <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WALK OF HOPE DAY <br /> OCTOBER 29, 2001 <br /> <br />Item ~ 4.4. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Norman Ball, a 58 year-old grandfather of five is undertaking an epic walking <br /> journey of approximately 8,500 miles; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Norman's cause is to rescue severely at-risk children living in the streets, <br /> sewers, and garbage dumps of most major cities of the world; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these children suffer from deprivation, neglect, abuse, murder and worse; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />through fundraising efforts of considerate and caring people like Norman <br />Ball and his support team, many young lives will realize a difference in the <br />world; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on October 29, 2001, Norman Ball will celebrate the completion of almost <br />4,000 miles of his "Walk of Hope" journey as he enters the City of Elk River; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is honored to be a part of this effort as Norman Ball <br /> travels through Elk River. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that I, Mayor Stephanie A.
