UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: FROM: <br />Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission Wade Lovelette -Superintendent of Technical <br />John Dietz, Chair Services <br />Jerry Gumphrey, Vice Chair <br />D 1 Thom son, Trustee <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />Jul 13, 2010 6.1 <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff U dates - Su erintendent of Technical Services <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The following is a summary of projects and/or updates over the past several weeks: <br />This month the Locating Department had a total of three hundred locate tickets. Twelve of those tickets <br />were "anoointments reouired", two were "boundary surveys", twenty-three were "undated" tickets and <br />seven were "emergency" locates. <br />The Metering Department continues with weekly and monthly substation checks, and doing the monthly <br />power bill. The meter change-out program is still continuing as time permits. During this process, they <br />have been helping the water department change water meters at the same time they aze there to change the <br />electric meter. <br />The SecuriTy Systems Department had a total of sixty-four phone contacts, twelve personal visits, twelve <br />systems quoted, nine sales made, ten installs completed and 18 service calls for the month of June. <br />Power Plant staff has performed the monthly run of the generators. They had to send one of the cylinder <br />heads from engine # 1 to Kansas to get repaired. The same head also needed a valve replaced. <br />This month Michael, Mark and I attended a free one-day seminar at Border States facility in Brooklyn <br />Pazk on capacitor banks. It was a very informative session. It was the first of its kind offered that I know <br />of. I have included a form in the education section of this book. <br />
