THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />Lake Orono Protect Uadate <br />Building and Zo 'ng Administrator Steve Rohlf showed a ideo explaining the Lake <br />Orono sediment rnoval project. Following the video tsve Rohlf requested <br />Council approval conduct a clean up of the dred ed Lake Orono allowing <br />lake homeowners t bring in debris from the lake su as tires, scrap metal, brush, <br />etc. <br />COUNCILNIEMBER FARE MOVED TO AUTHORIZE CLEAN UP TO ALLOW LAKE <br />OWNER RESIDENTS TO BRI GIN DEBRIS FROM TH LAKE. COUNCILMEMBER <br />HOLMGREN SECONDED TH OTION. THE MOT N CARRIED 5-0. <br />Utilities ommissio pdate <br />Utilities General Manger Bryan <br />the August 11 Utilities Commiss <br />the Council on issues discussed at <br />Boys and Girls Club Uadate <br />Councilmember Thompson u <br />Girls Club. He indicated that <br />Council on the progress of the Boys 8, <br />i is anticipated to begin very soon. <br />Community Recreation Dire or Jeff Asfahl dated the City Council on issues <br />discussed at recent Comm nity Recreation B and meetings. Jeff also updated <br />the Council on Youthbou ,Youth Initiatives, atepark, and BMX biking. <br />City Clerk Sandra Psi indicated that the city has dgeted for the purchase of <br />four optical scan vo g machines at an amount of $ 3,700. She indicated that <br />the machines cost pproximatefy $6,200 each, exclud g tax and shipping. She <br />further stated tha the city will receive a reimbursement rom Sherburne County in <br />the amount of $ ,000 following purchase of the machin .The City Clerk <br />requested the ouncii to authorize the use of the optical an precinct counters <br />at the genera election on November 3, 1998. <br />COUNCILM BER HOLMGREN MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE PURC ASE OF FOUR E58S <br />100 OPTICA SCAN VOTING MACHINES FROM EIECTlON SYSTEM AND SOFTWARE <br />AT A PURC ASE PRICE NOT TO EXCEED $24,800 EXCLUDING TAX D SHIPPING <br />WITH FUN ING TO COME FROM THE CAPITAL OUTLAY BUDGET AND O AUTHORIZE <br />THE USE F THE MACHINES AT THE GENERAL ELECTION ON NOVEMBE 3, 1998. <br />COUN LMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CA IED 5-0. <br />
