Elk River:
Municipal U
Tom Longmire
Property Supervisor
ACT Management, Inc.
850 Decatur Avenue North, Suite 2A
Golden Valley, MN 55427
June 8`s, 2010
Re: Troutbrook South Community
Deaz Tom,
We have received your notice of well drilling for Troutbrook South. I wanted to be sure
you are in complete understanding of our telephone conversation that took place last
month. We discussed the benefit of implementing the SMART irrigation system and
water saving tips to reduce water waste and money savings. The topic of the current
pending wellhead protection zone delineation for the neighboring wells was explained
and also how our water system may soon be part of the Metro Council jurisdiction;
whereas private wells may be obsolete. The potential risk of aquifer contamination and
water use impact to the community drinking water are also concerns for these newly
drilled irrigation wells. I also asked for suggestions on what we could do to remedy
concerns for the use of city water to irrigate the Troutbrook South azea. All in all, your
suggestion that there is not anything we could do to change your decision to drill several
wells still stands. In case you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to
contact me at (763) 441-2020.
Thanks,
li~~ ~~~
David Berg
Water Superintendent
Elk River Municipal Utilities
