ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL - UTILITIES <br />i <br />322 King Avenue <br />Elk River, Minnesota 55330 <br />Phone (612) 441 -2020 <br />UTILITIES COMMISSION MINUTES <br />November 14, 1995 <br />4:00 P.M. <br />Present Were: George Zabee President <br />James Tralle Vice Chairman <br />John Dietz Trustee <br />Others Present: <br />Bill Birrenkott, General Manager; Bob McCartney, Water <br />Superintendent; Mike Hanlon, Athletic Director; Pat Klaers, City <br />Administrator, Sandy Thackery, City Clerk <br />1) The meeting was called to order at 4:00 P.M. by President <br />Zabee. <br />2) <br />Motion by <br />Mr. <br />Dietz, seconded by Mr. Tralle <br />to <br />approve the <br />agenda as <br />amended. The Motion carried. <br />controls at the Gary Street water tower. The motion carried. <br />7) <br />. 3) <br />Motion by <br />Mr. <br />Tralle, seconded by Mr. Dietz <br />to <br />approve the <br />of the 1996 operating budget. Action will be taken at a future <br />minutes of <br />the <br />previous meeting. The motion carried. <br />4) <br />Motion by <br />Mr. <br />Tralle, seconded by Mr. Dietz <br />to <br />donate the <br />electricity to <br />run two pitching machines <br />to <br />the school <br />district. <br />The <br />motion carried. <br />5) It was decided to defer the decision on a substance abuse <br />policy to a future meeting. <br />6) <br />The Water Superintendent reported on the status of various <br />water department projects. Motion by Mr. Tralle, seconded by <br />Mr. Dietz to authorize the expenditure of $4,500 for additional <br />controls at the Gary Street water tower. The motion carried. <br />7) <br />The General Manager reviewed the status of construction <br />projects and other operating conditions. <br />8) <br />The General Manager presented the Commissioners with a draft <br />of the 1996 operating budget. Action will be taken at a future <br />meeting. <br />9) <br />The General Manager reviewed the October financial statements <br />with the Commissioners. Motion by Mr. Dietz, seconded by Mr. <br />iThe <br />Zabee to receive and file the October financial statements. <br />motion carried. <br />
