November 28, 1995 - Planning Commission consider 6 -month extension to S <br />ordinance establishing a moratorium on subdivisions of land. <br />• December 18, 1995 - City Council consider ordinance establishing a 6- <br />month extension to ordinance establishing a moratorium on subdivisions <br />of land. <br />Analysis <br />As the Planning Commission and City Council near the end of review and <br />adoption of the Comprehensive Plan, there will still be some implementation <br />that will need to take place after the adoption of the plan. One of the major <br />issues relates to the ultimate urban service area and establishing <br />appropriate zoning controls to provide for the efficient extension of utilities. <br />In order to establish the appropriate zoning controls, an additional 6 months <br />will be needed to conduct the necessary public hearings before the Planning <br />Commission and City Council. <br />A tentative schedule staff would like to follow to accomplish the necessary <br />rezonings, ordinance amendments, etc., is as follows: <br />• Planning Commission meeting on 1/23/96 <br />• City Council meeting on 2/20/96 <br />Please refer to the attached reports to the Planning Commission and City <br />Council for additional information on this subject. <br />Recommendation <br />It is recommended that the Planning Commission recommend to the City <br />Council approval of the ordinance amendment establishing a 6 -month <br />extension to the ordinance establishing a moratorium on subdivisions within <br />the area identified on the attached map. <br />• <br />s:p1annin9:pc:oa94 -2 <br />
