3 12/18/95 16:36 FAX 1855699 NSC Z 003 /001 <br />COMPLETE TEXT OF MIGHTY DUCKS ICE ARENA GRANT RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, laws of Minnesota 1995 240 A .09 authorize the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission to award <br />2.5 million dollars for new ice arena grants and $400,000 for renovation grants and, <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission has published a Request for Proposals in the <br />July, 1995 State Registrar and, <br />WHEREAS, Eighty -two Minnesota cities have made application and, <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission recommends the following cities receive ice arena <br />grants, <br />NEW ARENA GRANTS <br />1 st Congressional District <br />City of Faribault $250,000 <br />2nd Congressional District <br />City of Sleepy Eye $150,000 <br />3rd Congressional District <br />City of Plymouth $250,000 <br />4th Congressional District <br />'City of St. Paul $250,000 <br />(St. Catherine's site) <br />5th Congressional District <br />'City of Minneapolis $250,000 <br />(Edison and U of M) <br />6th Congressional District <br />`City of Oakdale /Maplewood <br />ISD with (Mahtomedi) $250,000 <br />RENOVATION GRANTS <br />City of Rochester $50,000 <br />City of Worthington $50,000 <br />City of Marshall $50,000 <br />City of Brooklyn Park $25,000 <br />County of Ramsey $50,000 <br />City of Richfield $50,000 <br />City of Inver Grove Hgt.$23,000 <br />City of Cottage Grove $40,000 <br />7th Congressional District <br />City of Bagley $200,000 County of Stevens $50,000 <br />City of Sauk Centre $125,000 <br />City of Richmond $200,000 <br />81h Congressional District <br />City of Cloquet $280,000 City of Lindstrom $25,000. <br />City of Babbitt $12,000 <br />City of Duluth $50,000 <br />WHEREAS, laws of Minnesota 1995 240 A .09 require that 10% of $2,500,000 /new arena grant must be <br />awarded to facilities that serve sports other than hockey, the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission recom- <br />40 mends the following city be awarded a grant: <br />Cities of Virginia, Eveleth, Mountain Iron, and Gilbert $250,000 <br />CONDITIONAL, the above candidates of the 4th, 5th and 6th Congressional Districts are conditional grants. <br />These applicants must demonstrate by February 26, 1996 that the project is a two new sheet facility, has a <br />
